Ten years ago, ReachOut Namibia (RONA) began with a simple idea, that every child in Namibia deserves dignity, opportunity, and someone who believes in them.
No big office.
No major funding.
Just passion, compassion, and a willingness to show up where help was needed most.
Today, a decade later, RONA stands as a national force for hope, serving thousands of children, girls, and families across regions like Kavango East, Kavango West, Zambezi, Omusati, Oshikoto, Tsumeb, Aus, Otavi, Kombat, and beyond.
This year, we celebrate RONA at 10, a milestone that honors the people, the communities, the volunteers, and the moments that shaped our journey.
In 2015, RONA began with small Back2School drives and simple acts of kindness, packing school shoes, uniforms, and stationery in living rooms and car boots.
There was no long-term plan.
Just one goal:
To restore dignity for children who simply wanted a fair chance to learn.
That small effort grew, quickly. Requests came from more schools. More families needed support. More girls needed pads. More youth asked for guidance. And slowly, one program at a time, RONA became a lifeline for children and communities.
Over the years, RONA expanded into six core areas:
- Back2School – giving learners dignity and confidence
- PledgeAPad – ending period poverty across northern Namibia
- Star Performer Award & Scholarship – recognizing academic excellence
- Youth Mentorship – empowering young leaders with purpose
- Random Acts of Kindness – responding to urgent community needs
- Partnership Building – strengthening NGOs and civil society through events like the Annual NGO Seminar
Each programme grew from listening, listening to children, teachers, mothers, communities, and volunteers. And that is why they work.
Because RONA’s work is built on real needs, not assumptions

To honour this milestone, RONA launched the RONA@10 Campaign, a special 2025 initiative supporting:
10 schools.
10 donors.
The focus region: Kunene, where learners face harsh winter conditions, long travel distances, and a severe lack of basic items like mattresses and blankets.
Through RONA@10, each school will receive N$10,000 worth of essential support, restoring comfort and dignity for hundreds of children.
This campaign marks the beginning of RONA’s next decade, one centered on deeper, more intentional, more life-changing impact.
As RONA steps into its next decade, our vision remains clear, to continue supporting fair access to education, enhancing learning opportunities, and shaping pathways for children and youth to thrive.
There is still work to be done.
Still families to support.
Still girls to empower.
Still youth to uplift.
Still schools to reach.
But if the last decade has taught us anything, it is that hope grows when people come together.
Here’s to 10 years of service.
10 years of dignity.
10 years of impact.
And the next decade of building a Namibia where every child has the chance to rise.
Be the first to hear how love is changing lives, one child at a time.
